Tanybryn is a small but very connected community along Skenes Creek Road (C119), connecting Forrest (and Colac) and the Great Ocean Road. You're unlikely to see any neighbours and feel like you are in the country, away from it all. You will be only 15min drive to the beach at Skenes Creek and the famous Otways Fly Treetop Adventure is about 35min away, whilst the Twelve Apostles are 1hr 15min away. For shops, cafes, restaurants entertainment both Forrest and Apollo Bay are ~20 min drive.
