Homestead with private Waterfalls & Rainforest

If you've come to enjoy the Great Ocean Road and the Otways, but haven't yet stayed with us, you haven't experienced it all! Welcome to the Homestead at The Source, Otways. Here you'll find not only a comfortable private getaway with all the conveniences and little luxuries, but also a spectacular rainforest and waterfall adventure on a totally private land. Come and immerse yourself in the magic of The Source -rest, explore, create and connect with yourself, your loved ones and pristine nature. On arrival, as you come through the gate up the treelined driveway, look out for Barry, the resident Koala, and the sheep on the nearby paddock, who curiously greet the visitors. You'll be able to drive up directly to the Homestead and park your car near the entrance, for easy unpacking. The Homestead features all the essential conveniences and some little luxuries for a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable stay. There are 3 separate bedrooms - ideal for two couples and 6 singles - all beautifully styled and featuring lovely fresh linen, pillows, doonas, and blankets for your comfort. (If you are staying with a little one, a portacot and high chair are also available on request.) The separate modern bathroom has a toilet, bathtub with shower and vanity, with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hairdryer provided for your convenience. Enjoy and relax in the spacious living room, lounging on luxurious leather couch or tucked up with a book on the cosy daybed by the log fire. The adjoining kitchen is fully equipped with a ful sized fridge, coffee machine, kettle, chef-style cook-top and oven, full set of tableware and all the pots/pans for to cook up a storm for your loved ones. The dining area features a beautiful reclaimed wood dining table for sharing meals or enjoying the boards games provided for your leisure. If you decide to head out for a meal, make your way down to Apollo Bay or Forrest to one of the local eateries (see our recommendations) for a fabulous country fair. Enjoy the sunshine on the beautiful wooden deck facing the lush garden with mature trees... or settle in for an outdoor lunch under the shelter of the pergola, where you can enjoy the Otways breeze and watch the birdlife that comes to feed at the birdhouse. TV and wifi are provided for your convenience, but many choose to "disconnect to reconnect" with themselves, each other and the spectacular nature at The Source, Otways. You may also enjoy some games and books at the Homestead and there is plenty of firewood ready for your stay. There is a heater in every rom for those particularly chilly nights, and air fans for the hotter Otways days. You will also find a washing machine and dryer in the fully equipped separate laundry, should you need to freshen things up after a day out in the countryside and rainforest. But if there is anything else you require to make your stay more enjoyable, please feel welcome to ask! We will do our best to accommodate. Besides having exclusive use of the Homestead, we invite you to explore the surrounding gardens, visit the sheep that are grazing on one of the paddocks and most of all take an unforgettable stroll through the temperate rainforest that covers over 100 acres of The Source estate. Visit the Secret Garden and sit around a log fire in the firepit (available strictly outside fire ban season), listening to the sounds of the forest and sharing stories. Go on a brief or an all-day adventure, just following kilometers of world class walking tracks, timber boardwalks, bridges and steps that meander through The Source rainforest, past 300 year old Mountain Ash, magnificent Myrtle Beech and ancient ferns. The tracks will take you to each of the 3 private Waterfalls situated on the property, one of which is 30 metres high, and another in The Grotto that comes alive with glow-worms at night. (Walking track maps provided.) Pack a picnic and enjoy the afternoon relaxing in the Rainforest Pavilion, that is suspended over the Creek after your rainforest walk. Here you can lounge around on the comfortable couches, sheltered away from the heat or the rain, or splash around in the crystal clear waters. Enjoy this magnificent nature experience, away from tourist crowds, in absolute peace and privacy of The Source. There is just so much here to explore at The Source, Otways! If you need anything before or during your stay, you will have a contact number to reach us. Tanybryn is a small but very connected community along Skenes Creek Road (C119), connecting Forrest (and Colac) and the Great Ocean Road. You will not really see any neighbouring properties and feel like you are in country homestead, away from it all. You will be only 15min drive to the beach at Skenes Creek and the famous Otways Fly Treetop Adventure is about 35min away, whilst the Twelve Apostles are 1hr 15min away. For shops, cafes, restaurants entertainment both Forrest and Apollo Bay are ~20 min drive. The Homestead is nearby the Cottage, so you may see other guests on the property, but the only shared space is the outdoors.
