If you've come to enjoy Great Ocean Road and the Otways, but haven't yet stayed with us, you haven't experienced it all! Welcome to the EcoPod at The Source, Otways. Rest, create, reconnect with yourself, your beloved and pristine nature, here on this privately held land. Enjoy the simplicity and cosiness of this little abode, as you explore the magic of the spectacular ancient rainforest, crystal clear waterfalls and secluded grotto that comes alive with glow worms at night. Adventures await! Not up for camping, but still want the adventure of the great outdoors? The EcoPod at The Source, Owtays is a totally unique experience that brings back the feeling of connection with nature, whilst enjoying the comforts and cosiness of a gorgeous little abode. If you're after solitude or some intimacy with your beloved, this private little nest in the beauty and wonder of spectacular rainforest and waterfalls will kindle ample inspiration, invoke peace, tranquillity and rustic romance. Enjoy the simplicity of a log fire in your own fire pit, the big starry night skies outside, an adventure to the grotto for night time glow worms or simply listening to the song of wind and rain as you gaze out of your EcoPod window. On arrival, as you come through the gate up the treelined driveway, look out for Barry, the resident Koala, and the cows on the nearby paddock, who curiously greet the visitors. You'll be able to drive past the Homestead and Cottage, right up and park your car next to your EcoPod, for easy unpacking. Your EcoPod is your little abode in the great expanse of The Source, Otways, where you can reconnect with yourself, your beloved person or craft, and nature. The EcoPod is the blend of cosiness and comfort with minimalist simplicity, for a relaxed, quirky and memorable stay. Smaller than a “tiny house”, this little abode comfortably sleeps two people on a cushy mattress, leaving enough space for your overnight necessities. BYO pillow and sleeping bag, or request full bedding for a bit of luxury (extra charges apply). There is a little solar powered light for your night time reading, and even a USB port to charge your phone, although our philosophy is "Less Screen, More Green" and we invite our guest to "disconnect to reconnect". Your little sanctuary has an in-ground fire pit, and your stay includes firewood and kindling so you can cosy up to the log fire in the evening or boil your billy tea. There is no toilet or shower, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient for your toiletting needs (BYO portaloo or similar), bring your own water and leave no trace upon your departure. This pristine land is precious, and we open it to very few guests, who can be mindful in keeping it this way. Come explore the magic of The Source, Otways! When Staying at the EcoPod we invite you to explore the surrounding area, visit the cows that are grazing on one of the paddocks and most of all take an unforgettable stroll through the temperate rainforest that covers over 100 acres of The Source estate. Go on a brief or a day-long adventure, just following kilometers of world class walking tracks, timber boardwalks, bridges and steps that meander through The Source rainforest, past 300 year old Mountain Ash, magnificent Myrtle Beech and ancient ferns. The tracks will take you to each of the 3 private Waterfalls situated on the property, one of which is 30 metres high, and another in The Grotto that comes alive with glow-worms at night. (Walking track maps provided.) Pack a picnic and enjoy the afternoon relaxing in the Rainforest Pavilion, that is suspended over the Creek after your rainforest walk. Here you can lounge around on the comfortable couches, sheltered away from the heat or the rain, or splash around in the crystal clear waters. Enjoy this magnificent nature experience, away from tourist crowds, in absolute peace and privacy of The Source. There is just so much here to explore! If you need anything before or during your stay, you will have a contact number to reach us. Tanybryn is a small but very connected community along Skenes Creek Road (C119), connecting Forrest (and Colac) and the Great Ocean Road. You will not really see any neighbouring properties and feel like you are in country homestead, away from it all. You will be only 15min drive to the beach at Skenes Creek and the famous Otways Fly Treetop Adventure is about 35min away, whilst the Twelve Apostles are 1hr 15min away. For shops, cafes, restaurants entertainment both Forrest and Apollo Bay are ~20 min drive. Besides EcoPod there is a Homestead and a Cottage on the property, so you may see other guests on the walking trails.
